Next Meeting is this Friday
We have our next round of subs this Friday. Please take the time Thursday morning to verify that you have a substitute scheduled for this Friday. If not, please give me a call (370-1691).
We will be meeting at the Starbuck's by the old Safeway. I will let you know ahead of time that it will require some flexibility on everyone's part as we will be in and out of the meeting room as well as breaking up into small groups. It won't be your typical meeting place. We will start off our meeting at 8:30 pm and will finish up at 4:00. Let's plan on going to lunch as a group (lunch will be covered). You might want to wear layers just to be sure that you are warm enough.

What to bring:

  • Thoughts about the AR program at your site, what you would keep, change, etc. because we will be crafting our Carson AR program.
  • Lists (literally) of what you have at your site (easiest thing to do is to grab your PTA calendar of events and school handbook) and what you would like to see at Carson in terms of Wednesday after school programs, before school programs, extra curricular activities, stipend positions, events, experiences, etc. This can include things that occur during the school day, they may be schoolwide, by primary or intermediate, or by grade level, etc. The emphasis can be academic, social, cultural, etc. There are currently no boundaries. We are doing this to help determine what we will have and what may be an expense that we will need to account for.
  • Thoughts and ideas on the furniture that needs to be purchased. Please begin to communicate with your teachers. But more importantly, take a look at what's in your room and create a list of 1) must haves, 2) would likes, and 3) frosting on the cake. Bring the list with you.
  • Bring any materials that you have regarding the big toys to the meeting. We will try to move forward on this as a subcommittee.
  • Bring your calendars

Free Drink Friday: The first person to send me the information wins the drink. Except that this week I am giving myself until Tuesday to get it to you instead of Monday (Sandy is still waiting for last week's).
-------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you all for your hard work on Thursday. I very much enjoyed just being able to see the team come together. I am excited about the work ahead of us. I took a moment to scan during the toy structure presentations as well as the committee work in the Pioneer Room and I felt very proud of what a great team we have. I actually enjoyed the difficulty of assigning people to the committees because everyone was willing to go where they were needed vs. choosing based on interest. Most of all we worked very well as a group with our professional conduct and patience with the two techie wannabees as they tackled the SmartBoard. Thank you for wanting to do this most important work!

Substitute Day for Lead Teams
We are on for tomorrow. Some things to know:
1. You're on your own for hot drinks, unless you like cowboy coffee. We will have other beverages for you (water, diet coke, coke)
2. Each building has been invited to send a rep to participate in the big toy presentations. The reason for this is that we may be expanding the original plan and so may require additional fundraising depending on the direction that we will be going.
3. If you have big toy information packets/binders, please bring them with you.
4. Please bring your laptops and powercords with you. We will be adding some information that should make getting blog information easier.
See you tomorrow at 8:30 AM

Technology and Teaming & Collaboration
Both sites are now working. Please take the time to sign up for one of the two. Please note that your feedback is desired under comments for both the Technology and the Teaming and Collaboration. This is the beauty of a blog... your insights and knowledge can be shared on both committees without needing to sit on both! I also want to thank you for your efforts and increase in communication through the use of this blog, especially if it is out of your comfort level.
