Carson Lunch & Recess Scheduling

Please comment on the email attachment that was sent regarding the lunch scheduling. Lets try to limit ourselves for now to the lunch times (which classes go when) and recesses times. Once we determine this we can then talk about more specifics)

This is for those committee members who attended the first session. I realize that the hiring process has significantly taken from your family time and non-school commitments. Currently we have more members than we are required to have on board for the Arts Commission. I know we are all excited about the variety of the work, but I also don't want to burn you out with these evening meetings (our next meeting will be the sealer for participation either way). We will actually be selecting the artist. Please let me know whether or not you will attend so that I can plan accordingly for dinner.

Dinner will be included. We will have: chicken & wild rice soup, lunch meat and cheese platter to build your own sandwich on a sandwich roll (condiments included), fresh sliced fruit, and pop/water.

Carson Applicant Interviews

It looks like we will be going with the following updated calendar for the Carson applicant interviews (keep in mind that the joint interviews will stay the same).

Canceled Lead Team Meeting
Tuesday, February 13th

Lead Team Meetings
Thursday, February 15th, 11:00-8:00 pm: The work will include Carson content as well as afternoon interviews. You will have a full day sub on this day. We will be meeting at Wildwood Elementary School, Portable 26 (this is a change from our original location).

I want to throw out another option regarding the Saturday. Right now we have Saturday, February 17th, designated for interviews It would take approximately half a day. We will complete the interviews for the remaining Carson applicants and conclude with a list of recommendations from both interview dates. We can get these taken care of during one weekday evening (interviews, debrief, selection, etc.). Subs would not be used. The only day available is Friday, Feb. 16th. Here are the new options.

Option A: Keep Saturday, Feb. 17th

Option 2: Interview on Friday, Feb. 16th after school

I see one of these two dates as our only option because I think that it is to our advantage to have our Carson interviews complete as we go into joint interviews. Please respond so that I can send out the second day schedule to candidates. Thank you.

Interviews

Now that we have the people who are interested we are ready for interviews. Some considerations that were needed to be acknowledged included the following:

• scheduling outside of school hours so buildings and team members did not have to compete with subs and not disrupt learning
• complete interviews during the month of February
• candidates who signed up for both schools will be interviewed by a combined team from both schools
• interviews with powerpoint are anticipated to take 45 minutes per candidate

Carson only Candidates
Option 1: The Carson Lead Team will be meeting on Tuesday and Thursday. I am hoping that we might be able to meet for the day on a late start type schedule both days so that we can conduct interviews during both interviews. This would mean working from 10:00-6:00. The morning would be dedicated to Lead Team work and starting at about 3:15 on we would conduct interviews. We have eleven people to interview.

Option 2: We cancel the Tuesday Lead Team day, dedicate the Thursday to Lead Team work, and crank out the interviews on Saturday, February 17th or 24th. We would not need the whole lead team for the interviews if we conducted them on a Saturday. Staff would be compensated for their day.

Carson and Edgerton Joint Interviews
The following schedule has been set for team interviews. The group interviews are limited in number as per the negotiated process, this the reason for the two classroom teachers). Both teams will have two teachers and two administrators.

Primary Team: Feb. 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 3:45-8:00 pm at ESC (David, Lisa, Miles, Arturo)
Intermediate Team: Feb. 14th and Feb. 16th, 3:45-8:00 pm at ESC (Jo Ann, Sandi, Miles, Arturo).

Jo Ann is on the intermediate team because she has intermediate classroom experience, are limited to two classroom teachers so couldn't participate on the primary team, and we currently only have Sandi as an intermediate teacher for Carson.
